About

Geo Rarities is owned by artists and collectors of rare and beautiful one of a kind natural and geologic items. We believe that there is no better artist than mother nature herself. We circle the the world to find the unique items you will see displayed on these pages. In 2000 we began selling rare items as art for display in fine homes and gardens, public places and businesses. We work with home owners, art collectors, interior designers, architects, landscape and garden professionals. On our site you will find many natural geologic items transformed into designer items such as petrified wood side tables, coffee tables and sculptural art. You can bring mother nature into your living area and get the feel of stone with the look of wood!

We are intrigued at the age of the universe. This drew us to meteorites. Meteorites are rarer than diamonds and as old as 4.5 billion years. We are proud to offer you a selection of iron and stony(chondrite) meteorites and great designer and collector appeal.

Our customers have relied on us to provide the best quality of large quartz, amethyst, citrine and other quartz crystals, spheres and oblisks.

We’ve been collecting fossils small and large since we were children. Starting with fossil shells till now we have some great dinosaur bones that display well on desks, mantels and on pedestals.

We are highly atrracted to sparkly minerals such as quartz, rainbow calcite, malachite, azurite, hemimorphite, fluorite, natural copper and even gemstones such as turquoise! You can find special pieces like these and more on our website.

As artists we are incorporating natural items with man-made and found items to create provocative combinations. We challenge the gap between “Natural” and “man-made”. We invite you to visit our showroom by appointment where we can discuss how we can create a special piece for you.

Geo Rarities does not have a retail store. We operate via the internet and in person by appointment at our studio. For 12 years we were located in Los Angeles not far from the Pacific Design Center and Beverly Hills. In 2005 we moved to Cincinnati, Ohio and are now centrally located to also serve clients in Chicago, New York, Atlanta, St. Louis, Indianapolis, Columbus, Dayton, Cleveland, Detroit, Louisville, and Lexington.

None of our products come from National Park land. All items are legally mined, collected or imported. Some of our petrified wood items are imported from around the world.

We can provide interior design, garden design and yard design as you request.

We look forward to helping you with your custom and special needs. Please contact us for a private showing at our studio.
