Celestite is strontium based mineral that often has a delicate blue color. The name comes from the latin word ‘caelestis’ meaning celestial. It’s often found as a crystal and sometimes in geodes. The larges known geode, weighing in at 35 feet in diameter is located near the town of Put-In-Bay, Ohio on Lake Erie.
