Named for Finnish geologist, Victor Axel Hackman, hackmanite is a variety of sodalite that can have reversible photochromism or tenebrescence, showing orange colored photoluminescence in UV light. Hackmanite is usually pink to grey white to white. There are important deposits of Hackmanite located in Afghanistan, Myanmar, Canada, Norway and Russia.
