Kambaba Jasper

Crocodile Jasper, also known as Kambaba Jasper is a sedimentary Fossilized Stromatolite Algae (greenish or blackish orbs of petrified algae with predominantly black centers) very different from other jaspers. The name "crocodile jasper" is said to refer to the stone's resemblance to amphibian eyes. It is a very old stone dating back about 3 billion years. Kambaba Jasper is not related to Nebula Stone which is NOT fossilized and is Igneous (formed deep in the earth). They have different chemical makeups.

This stone is found in South Africa, Madagascar and the ocean bottom between the two.
