This is a beautiful medium sized purple fluorite specimen from distant Koh-i-Maran, Kalat District, Balochistan Region, Pakistan. A great piece for completing a location based collection!

Fluorite is the mineral form of calcium fluoride, CaF2. Fluorite is also called fluorspar. Fluorite occurs in hydothermal veins and can be associated with Quartz, Calcite and Barite. Pure fluorite is transparent, both in visible and ultraviolet light. Impurities can make fluorite a colorful mineral. Fluorite crystalizes in the cubic crystal system.
