Hawk’s Eye, from Griqualand, South Africa is a beautiful variety of blue-gray greenish opaque banded fibrous quartz. Hawk’s Eye is essentially blue tiger’s eye. Hawk’s Eye is actually considered as a pseudomorph of quartz as it changes from one mineral to another over time; transforming Crocidolite (blue asbestos) into quartz. Hawk’s Eye exhibits the quality of chatoyancy (cat’s eye effect) due to the reflective of light by the fibrous structure of the crystal.
Hawk’s Eye is said to be a good stone for healing the earth’s energy and for grounding energy. Hawk’s Eye is said to stimulate and invigorate the physical body.
