Holly Blue Agate comes from near Sweet Home, Oregon.
Holly Blue is supposed to be purple in color except for the original seam which was bluish. The mine site is on private timber land and is permanently closed to the public. It is found near and sometimes in the Calapooia River. Sometimes called Calapooia agate.
This is a very special stone. Its shape is rectangular with a little handle-like nub on one side. It is very translucent showing great shades of purple. If you hold this stone up to light, when it is translucent you will see inside the stone, a rectangular purplish and white banding also in a rectangular shape. A tiny bit of original matrix appears on the narrow top edge in small little vugs! Just looking at this piece will make you feel good!
We personally tumble polished this stone to ensure the best color and shape are displayed at the highest quality.
