This is a beautiful specimen of what appears to be aqua colored smithsonite crystals mixed with transparent crystals of some other unknown mineral. This specimen came to us from a former Geologist’s collection.

This is an excellent display piece.

Smithsonite is the mineral form of zinc carbonate (ZnCO3). It is also known as zinc spar or turkey fat. smithsonite is a variably colored trigonal mineral which only rarely is found in well formed crystals. The typical habit is as earthy botryoidal masses.
