Prehinite is a semi-precious mineral that forms in vesicles of basaltic rocks and is named after Dutch Colonel Hendrik von Prehn, who discovered it in 1774. Prehinite is an inosilicate of calcium and aluminum. It has the formula: Ca2Al(AlSi3O10)(OH)2 with limited Fe3+substitutes for aluminium in the structure.

This specimen is a beautiful mix of darker and light green color. This piece is tumble polished all over. An ideal pocket piece! This piece has 4 little lobs of prehinite! Has a little bit of black epidote as well.
