This incredibly rare purple to bluish seam agate is one of the most popular agates in the western Oregon and spreading around the world. The Holley Mt. area is the main area for this famous lapidary material. It is located on leased timberland. The mine site was bulldozed over and replanted it was closed to digging as of spring 1997. The land is leased to a Timber Consulting group, who currently controls access to the site. People who have dug since then have been cited for trespassing, had their rock confiscated and were fined.

The closure of Holly Mountain is driving up the rarity of this beautiful agate.

We are lucky to offer this fine rare material to the market.
